This is exactly what I needed for my vdsl2 service with centurylink. I have opened three browsers running youtube and had my roku on at the same time with no problems. I am happy. Thank you.

Was looking for a cheap vdsl2 modem. This met my needs. Little Bulky and probably old model but, it works

This router is awesome. I’m getting 6.15mbps out of the 7 promised by Centurylink. I didn’t expect them to deliver more than three really so this is incredible. The device can be connected to many things at once and still function well. I’ve had over twenty tabs open and loading at once on my browser while watching netflix on three devices. I haven’t had it get hot but have been unplugging it when not in use to make it last longer. The connection remains steadier and fast if you don’t leave your modems plugged in 24 hours a day. That’s just common electrical sense, if it gets a break it lives longer. It didn’t come with anything at all beside the modem, an ethernet cable, and the power cord. That is all. I purchased a phone cord for under five dollars and it worked great with it. Centurylink even had it mostly setup for me without even coming to my house. (I configured the settings already for the wireless network and connected to it using a web browser at 192.168.0.1. It came setup for some other user but I did a factory reset on it in case the person was a genius and was having the data sent to him.

Plugs in and was up within seconds after SN was verified with CenturyLink and connection username and password applied.
I haven’t used the wireless function since I have my own. Interface is easy to use once you type in the IP address in the browser.
Jay Bateman –
Router worked as expected. I did find a broken antenna which was easily replaced. And the wireless is now having some speed issues. Not sure what the issue is.
Eric –
Easy to setup and works well for my needs (Netflix and basic Internet usage)

Works well and saves about $10.00 less on the cable system. Pays for iteself.

One star rating is not a fair rating considering the device may have not been compatible with my internet service provider. My internet service provider partnered with Century Link. Currently I have a Century Link modem whose performance is not satisfactory. Reviews for VDSL modems indicated Zyxel to have better performance. Unfortunately, I was unable to get Zyxel to connect my computer. It also would not connect to the internet. Seller was responsive and am returning the modem.

My old Century Link modem quit working properly. I called CenturyLink and they recommended another modem, but when I looked on Amazon it had poor reviews. I bought this one after reading positive reviews. It has worked easily right out of the box. I haven’t had any trouble with it and have been using it about a month. Am satisfied with my purchase. Also this seller shipped within an hour and I received it several days ahead of the estimate, altho I’m only one state away so VERY satisfied with seller.
Norman D. Crawford –
It works great as long as there is good air circulation on all sides; otherwise it tends to overheat and lose connection.
SAMUEL R HAPNER –
Didn’t connect to the ISP for me but seemed to work fine otherwise. Will probably work just fine for someone else if they know how to fiddle with the settings better than me. Seller was very receptive and prompt on the return and refund, would recommend.

So it was cheap and came with a power adapter, phone cord, and cat 5e cable. However it appears as if it was rolling around in the bed of someone’s truck for a few months. Thankfully all I need it for is the DSL connection in a hall closet. Would not put it out on a desk or somewhere it would be seen because it looks as if it was dug out of a dumpster. It works just fine though so it fits my needs for now.

Great price and great product. I was missing the power cord but they shipped one to me right away.
E. Hunter –
I purchased because I needed a new modem & wireless router. It was the EXACT model and specifications required by my wireless carrier.
However I subsequently had a lot of issues with my wireless carrier and ended up swapping out this one for the “New & improved” version from the carrier. Was told that this model was “outdated” and wouldn’t work properly. (Found out it was actually the wireless carrier’s issue and NOT my Modem/Router issue.)

Somewhat easy to setup.

didn’t get what was advertised, missing a lot, just got router

This modem model is inconsistent in its operation and is no longer recommended by my internet provider

This modem works perfectly in conjunction with my Century Link Hi Speed Internet Service. I did not want to pay $100 for a new modem so I opted for this Zyxel Q1000Z VDSL2 Modem & Wireless Router that cost me half the price of a new modem and works perfectly. Great product!
Customer –
Extended the range of my wi-fi to the the point that my shut-in neighbor across the street can hook into my wi-fi
H. Flanagan –
Stay away from CENTURY LINK they are the worst company!!! This modem works really well.
Maximum –
Would not connect to DSL. DSL connection worked on my old modem but not on this one. The DSL light would not go solid. Zyxel (or whoever they are) said CenturyLink had to activate the modem first. Called CenturyLink, they said the DLS light should go solid before they can talk to the modem to activate it. I threw in the towel. Returning the modem.
L. Brewer –
Great performance. Much better than leasing from provider
Denise –
It didn’t work. It was one of those modems you get free from an internet provider. It was only usable with the same carrier. That carrier wasn’t an option where I live.
Customer –
Stopped working less than 2 months after I got it, 1 month after the return window.
RMP –
Doing it’s job. Way to go!!!
Danielle Reinhardt –
This only worked for about 3 months and then I had to buy one from the internet company. The product description said that it would work with my company, but clearly it did not. Too late to return.
Steffani Bush –
Very disappointed in this purchase. First, we were shipped the wrong power cord for this modem, so couldn’t even use it when we got it. When we finally got shipped the correct power cord, the modem ran very slow. After 3 months, it completely stopped working. We did a bunch of troubleshooting and the modem was faulty. Huge waste of time and money, and unfortunately it’s past the return period. We had to go buy a new modem after only 3 months – would definitely not recommend this one.
