Just the same as centurylink provided. Just better to own it and not pay monthly $10 and never really own it. So far so good.

Works great on both 2.4 and 5 ghtz channels, so far this has been an excellent router/modem combo.

Awesome router. Easy to setup. Doubled my wireless and Land speed. The 5GHZ band is great. Live in a neighborhood with lots of 2.4GHZ and had constant interference. This solved my problem. Very happy customer.
Michael A. Rouse –
Really easy to set up. The default wifi password was a bit hart to decipher — the 8 looked like a 3– but that was easy to get corrected.
Crystal Ramirez –
My DSL was painfully slow at 1mbps with the router provided by CenturyLink years ago. Now I got the full 25mbps I should have. What a difference! Can’t wait to get 1gbps service.

Excellent and it is approved by Century Link. It’s the modem they use if you have Prism TV and it prevents you from having to connect a 5GHZ router to your existing modem and it was the same price as a 5ghz router.
Iski4kix –
Maybe sometime in my lifetime they will make a modem where I don’t have to reboot to get my wireless working once a week
Customer –
Saved me a lot of money from using a leased unit for 9 a month.
Installed easy, but don’t us the Quick Set up thingy…
It will mess you up and it will take time to undo the goofy set up

This product to upgrade my modem for better video streaming. It does the job. I use the 5ghz for my pc, tab?ets and tv, and use the 2.4 for distant printers . We have several roku boxes, chromecast,, and vizio tv hooked to this, and noticed we were able to set video play back to automatic vs 720 which means we now get some 4k output. Another thing we noticed, if unplugged video continues tor about 90 seconds before saying disconnected our Action Tech displayed this after about 20 seconds. We do not have a prism tvs, just dsl, this is working well.

eplaced my long struggling spare C1000A (was using a Netgear D7000, but that quit connecting to the Internet). The C1000A was a decent modem router, but it lacked wireless coverage. Plugged the C2100T in and it has been running for about 1 week. So far so good! It has the same basic web menu as the C1000A, so setting it up was a snap.
My old C1000A did not have great wireless coverage so I bought a Netgear D7000 modem router. I used the Netgear for about the last 5 years and it was awesome, but now that device, while it still “sees” the DSL signal, won’t obtain Internet. Maybe Centurylink got wise to me using a non approved modem/router, or the Netgear’s modem portion went bad after 5 years of use.
The C21000T has almost as good wireless coverage as the Netgear (wireless signal strength measured with Metageek), which is 10x better than the old C1000A. I elected to turn off wireless in the C2100T and run the Netgear as a wireless access point. The combo is sweet indeed, and the C2100T runs cooler with it’s wireless off . I can pick up my wireless signal well out into my yard and down the street. The old Netgear, with it’s 3 antennas, is a wireless beast 🙂

Typical of my other CenturyLink products, this is not the easiest item to sync with my system. But I accomplished it, eventually and it’s working. I do noticed less buffering with this router. So that’s a +

Working well overall.
Prior house we were having a bunch of DSL drops, but I was fairly certain that this issue was centurylinks side NOT the modems, since this was literally the 4th modem I had on the line and the drops were still happening.
Now that I have moved to a new house/town, I am 100% sure that the modems were never the issue, as this modem has been hooked up for 3 weeks now… and not a single DSL drop.

For years now I have kept a brave face as I listened to friends and family – often with tears in their eyes, describe the joys of packing up their cable/satellite TV boxes and watching as they bounced away down the road on the back of the UPS truck – knowing they would never pay another ridiculous cable or satellite TV bill.
I told each one of those obnoxiously happy souls that I was happy for them, but secretly my heart raged with jealousy, and my psyche stung with the indignation of my woefully inadequate, circa late-90’s-era internet speeds.
Then, one day, a flyer appeared in my rural mailbox. It was a miracle. Real internet had arrived.
Now I sit with a smile on my face, watching Hulu and listening to the distant buzz of my Mom’s TV downstairs as she does the same, all while I write reviews online and play games on my tablet. The DirecTV and Hughesnet equipment I suffered with are now in boxes, waiting to be sent bouncing down the drive on the back of the next delivery truck.
I’ve promised myself I won’t cry but who are we kidding?
Oh! 21st century! What wonders you hold, indeed.
I bought this modem as a warehouse deal. It came with the power supply and all cables needed. Because it was an open-box/warehouse deal there were no instructions with the modem; but that really did not present a problem. We were up and running in no time (with the exception of a CenturyLink customer service call but that’s a whole other story) and we have been enjoying a trouble-free, lightning-fast, steady, reliable and smooth connection every since.
The only downside – this modem is very tall, and large, but given the performance I am very happy with it.

We had a PK5001A from CenturyLink and were constantly resetting it. CenturyLink claimed the modem was fine, we just needed to reset it every day. We bought this model because I had a similar model at our business and had no issues. This modem is performing very well. I believe the auto detect for the CenturyLink signal makes a difference. We have picked up some speed and most importantly, it actually stays connected. It uploads the security camera feed without fail. We also added, by cable, an Asus AC68U router upstairs and they play well together.

After setting up the modem sent to me I began experiencing problems with its connection. The best I could tell, the issue was with the modem. I contacted customer service regarding my issue and they provided a prompt response. After ensuring I had performed basic modem diagnostic steps to try to get the modem to work, they promptly sent me a replacement unit.
Based on their customer service I would not hesitate to do business with this company again.

Got lucky finding this device. Even though it was used, it was in great shape and works perfectly for all current Century link DSL Much cheaper buying this device rather than renting a modem for 10 bucks a month or buying one thru Century Link for 150.

I didn’t want to spend over $200 to get a DSL modem from my network provider, so I purchased this used one instead for 1/4th that cost. It surprisingly arrived 2 days early, which was helpful. I messed up the setting initially and the password for wifi was different than the one printed on the case, but i was able to find the wifi password under wifi security when logged in as the modem administrator, whose password was on the outside of the case and was correct. So, dsl works, internet works and wifi works. Can’t ask for more, especially at this price.
As others have said, there’s no written instructions in the box, so you need to have SOME experience setting up a DSL router and wifi, but it’s pretty basic stuff and you CAN find instructions on the internet for this model that you can follow. It’s not plug and play, you HAVE to do a small amount of setup to get it connected.

Works perfect with Century Link. No complaints at all! Wifi signal reaches my entire 4,000 square foot homes even the basement level! It even reaches outside!

If you love Centurylink FIOS and it uses this type modem. It’s basically plug and use. You’ll have to change your devices to find it and use its passphrase. But for under $50 this unit is paid for in 5 months, then you start reaping the benefit of not paying Centurylink $10/month for a leased unit. Once your leased unit is returned, Centurylink lowers you monthly bill.

Bought this to save a bit of money so that I didn’t have to rent one from CenturyLink. Haven’t had any problems with it so far, and it was perfectly compatible with the service in our house. Word to the wise: do your research before buying a modem and be SURE that you get one that’s compatible with the service available in your location. To be sure, I called CenturyLink and asked them what type of modem I’d need in order to be compatible with their system.

Had a very old Motorola 3347 DSL left over from Qwest before Century Link took over. It seemed to be showing its age. I looked at all of the CL’s “compatible modems list” and checked a lot of reviews. I could have spent more money, but in general, this modem seems to be known for good reliability and performance. Over my old DSL modem, this one seems to offer a slight increase in speed (5%-10%?) and handles multiple LAN requests better – I will assume this is a result of newer/faster hardware. I have only been forced to reboot it once (a Wi-Fi bridge got “lost”). While the modem does a fair amount of “auto-setting” on reboot, it takes a lot longer to make the DSL/ISP connection than the older modem.
Bottom Line: IF you get this modem at the “refurbished” price and in good working order, this is a bargain. Just beware of these shortcomings:
1. While the specs list a “USB Port” – you can plug in a USB 2.0 drive and the modem “USB” light will show up – CL has decided not to actually provide any way to access this drive (say, for a quick NAS or sharing files) from the modem’s menus.
2. While listed on the current CL website as “supported and compatible”, the modem is essentially at End-Of-Life: the last firmware update was in 2015.
3. Apparently, this modem does not support the Cloudflare “1.1.1.1” DNS server without a firmware update and while CL knows about this, there is no indication they will provide an update.

The product worked great for 11 months 28 days. The 2.4 GHz would no longer accept a password. I worked with Centurylink for 2 hours and they could not get it working. Wired and the 5 GHz is still working, but some devices only work with 2.4 GHz. Trying to get a replacement, if I’m brave enough. CenturyLink will not replace my modem due to it being shipped to Northwest Electronics on 1/8/18 and it crapped out on 1/13/19. I requested help from Northwest Electronics, however, they are requesting I return the item without providing a replacement to keep my internet working for the weeks they will have the unit. Update 1/15/19 – the modem router is a 1 star due to it crapping out at warranty end. However, Northwest Electronics is great! They are sending me a new unit to replace the one I have at no extra charge since they shipped it to me on 1/16/18. I will then send my partially working unit back after the new one is set up.

Second time trying to leave a review. The first time I must have offended someone, though cannot imagine how…sign of the times I guess. This arrived the day after I ordered it to my delight. Modem looks and works just like the one I was paying for; should have done this sooner for sure. Just called CL and requested my password (username is plain to see in the setup on the old modem) and all was perfect! Thank you seller!

Tried this modem for initial CenturyLink installation but it didn’t work so I went ahead and installed the one supplied by CenturyLink. A couple of days later I used chat to find out the information I needed and the install went smoothly. It would have been good to have had that information initially.
