Ian Rushton –
I just installed the SB6141 on my cable service this past week. The setup for this modem was extremely easy, just called the cable company with the serial number and they activated on my line, several minutes later it was up a running. It really performs well, I get about 23m down and 6.5m up pretty consistently, better than my DSL. The device is basically a black box, there are no real things to adjust. A couple of things to note if you are using Comcast, they do not allow the DHCP service to run so you have to put a router behind it for your home network. The second is a bit of a quirk, when I changed from a computer connected to the model to a router connected to the modem, I had to re-boot the modem before it started working. I thought this was a it strange, should recognized a change in the DHCP client and re-issue an address.
