Cisco DPC3010 Product Details
Welcome to the exciting world of high-speed Internet access! You’ve acquired one of the best modems available on the market today. Your new Cisco DPC3010 Cable Modem offers superior performance and reliability at data rates up to 8x that of conventional DOCSIS 2.0 cable modems.
Reliable Digital Broadband Service with Cisco DPC3010
The DPC3010 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem provides DOCSIS broadband service. As a result, it provides a cost-effective solution for delivering high-speed, reliable service.
The DPC3010 provides a faster connection to the Internet, by putting eight bonded downstream channels and four bonded upstream channels. These bonded channels deliver downstream data rates in excess of 320 Mbps and upstream data rates up to 120 Mbps. It’s up to eight times faster than older single-channel DOCSIS 2.0 cable modems.
Please note that this product is a modem only, and does not have built-in WiFi. If wireless is needed for your setup, a WiFi router can be purchased separately.
Tested to Work
All our CISCO DPC3010 cable modems are tested to be 100% working before they are shipped. We test for symptoms of failure or defects such as power issues and random resets. We check all physical ports and do a bandwidth test.

I ordered the refurbished version of this modem because it was only $30 and I wanted to see if it would make a difference in speed compared to the Arris issued from TWC. The Cisco modem activated without problem for me even though the modem was not on the approved list for TWC, After about 30 minutes of speaking with TWC the modem was up and running. I did not expect to get any major speed improvements since I always got the amount of speed that I paid for with my old modem. However, my connection was much more consistent. In the past, downloading a Steam game I could see my speed fluctuate a lot. With the Cisco modem the download speed from Steam is very consistent and stable. I downloaded several games over the span of a week and all of them came down very quickly. All in all, I am happy with my purchase and I now have the TWC modem as a backup just in case.

I took another reviewer’s advice and ordered a used model to save some money. The modem showed up along with a power cord and Ethernet cable. It arrived the day before I was scheduled to have service (Cox) turned on at my house.
The technician arrived the following day and went about hooking up my line outside at the pole, then coming in to do the cable box. When it came time to hook up them modem I was a bit apprehensive. It got even worse when I mentioned the modem was refurbished. The technician said it was probably toast, then kept asking me why I didn’t get the all-in-one units the cable company sold. I simply told him I preferred a separate modem and router. He was truly dumbfounded by my preference but continued his setup. It took him reading off the serial and MAC multiple times on the phone to the cable company but they finally put it in the system. I had my laptop and the Ethernet cable handy. Plugged in and headed to speedtest.net to pull down over 120 Mbps and get close to 25 up. I immediately had a huge smile on my face. The tech was then dumbfounded again and told me ” you shouldn’t be getting those kinds of speeds”. I pay for the 100 Mbps service so I was pretty happy to be getting more that straight from the tap. I should note that he was an outside contractor and not an employee of the cable company,
The next morning my wife was on wifi on her phone and said we didn’t have internet. So I went through some googling and power cycling on the both the router and modem for about an hour then everything got working again. Haven’t had an issue since and I have even unplugged both units to move them.
Bottom line: I recommend this product if you are getting a high end internet plan from your cable company and they require this kind of hardware for those speeds. Don’t waste almost $100 for a new one when you can get a used one for a quarter of the price.

Plug-n-Play. Don’t let the cable companies tell you that this is not supported, even if it isn’t on their approved list. They are trying to push certain modem types because they have deals with the manufacturers. This is a great modem. Give them the MAC ID, have them configure it and forget about it. Lives up to specs. Does run a little hot, but just put it in a well-ventilated space and don’t stack it with anything.

I love this modem, it’s simple, affordable, and it lasts. I used to have Time Warner, they’ll work with this modem. I just moved and switched to Comcast. I can confirm Comcast WILL swear up and down this modem won’t work with their service, and try to give you one of their bulky $300 modem/router junkboxes, both the techs and the support reps. This is false, just go to Comcast’s online chat and tell the reps you have a Cisco DPC 3008 and not a 3010 (they are both DocSIS 3 and basically the same modem), they provision it, and that worked fine for me. Don’t let your ISPs talk you into buying their hardware that you don’t need.

Great solid Modem and it is compatible with Comcast Xfinity Services. I had to explain to the IT service member that we needed to wait (about 5 mins) for “Packets to be RECEIVED & SENT” (packets are bits of information/communication between client and server) to load properly and then connection was on. Also, for the PC, the local network adapter needed to be reset BY the computer administrator.

Got this because we now have higher speed that the old modem doesn’t support. Paid twelve bucks for this nice used modem. Hooked it up, called media com tech support, gave them the MAC number and after a restart, everything worked like a charm. Speed test proves it!
When buying used make sure the modem has been unregistered from the former owner’s account or you may not be able to activate it.

Mediacom had this as a prefered modem after installing a new on at my house. Bought 2 on amazon for about $10 each instead of new prices of 50-100. Mine did quit working correctly today after 6 years after a power outage. Swapped it out with the other and was back to 130mps down and 25up. Never buy the new ones
