The Arris Touchstone TM1602A telephony modem is replacing the TM822G as the new industry favorite. This modem has 2 VoIP EMTA telephone lines, 24×8 channels and is accepted by Optimum Cable. While the TM822G is still in use and popular, this model is stealing some of the spotlight with it’s smaller form factor and upgraded specs.

Complete your Home or Business Network

Note that this is a modem only, with no built-in router. Therefore, if having Wi-Fi is important for your network, we recommend purchasing a router separately to connect to the TM1602A.

The Touchstone DOCSIS 3.0 16×4 E-MTA provides 2 separate lines of VoIP, and ultra-high speed data. This model was designed to be an extremely functional, cost effective option for anyone. Because of this, the Arris TM1602A also enables both home and businesses the speed and performance they need.

Whats the difference between arris TM1602A and arris TM822A?

The Arris TM1602A is a 16×4 channel modem and can be expanded to 24×8 whereas the TM822A is only an 8×4 channel modem. Having more channels allows for better connectivity and faster speed capabilities. The TM822A is rated at a max speed of 211Mbps although theoretically about 122Mbps whereas the Arris 1602 is rated for a max speed of around 360Mbps.

Does the TM1602A support a backup battery?

TM1602A does not have battery backup capability. If you need a backup battery, the TM1602G does have the battery backup capability, however this model may not have the same compatibility as the TM1602A.

What is the return policy?

Return for a Refund:

Return for a refund on any order is permitted up to 30 days after your order arrives at the shipping address specified for your order. If you need to return your order, please contact us within the 30-day return period to request an RMA.

Return for an Expedited Replacement:

Return for a replacements are permitted up to 90 days after the date your order was marked as delivered at your shipping address. Please contact us to request one.
