The packing was fine, but this device, does not show any internet activity, while using the Ethernet connection. Also the button on the top of the device seems to nothing, but it does have WiFi.

Works great .. And I’m saving money with time warner cable

Great customer service, the seller was very accommodating. I was able to confirm the S/N and Mac ID before purchase to confirm connection with my ISP which is TWC and the setup was simple and took 5 minutes. I highly recommend this buying this unit it has been 2 weeks since it arrived and everything has been working just fine.

We bought this router identical to the one we rented from Time Warner Cable. It works great, we have not had any problems. Bonus: it has paid for itself as we are no longer paying $10/month to rent!

Got this to replace the same type router I was renting for $10/mo from Time Warner. Mike at the company walked me thru how to set it up on the phone … not intuitive for me (I’m not that tech savvy). It’s up and running and super! Am very very happy! Excellent customer service!

If you bought this or are thinking about buying this for your Suddenlink cable internet, (or any other cable internet) and you wish to change router settings, please follow these steps to save yourself hours of frustration.
First try to login by going to 192.168.0.1 and entering admin as the username and password as the password. IF that works then you can disregard the following steps.
If your’s ends up being like mine and work, do the following:
1.) Factory reset the router (paper clip held in on the tiny button on the very back of the modem for 30 – 45 seconds)
2.) Verify that the SSID being broadcast is now suddenlink.net-xxxx (xxxx will be a random combination).
3.) Go to 192.168.100.1:8080 in your browser window and enter cusadmin for the username and password for the password.
It took me a while to figure all that out and the Arris user manual did not contain that information. I had to do a bunch of searching to find the correct address (192.168.100.1:8080) on a forum and the correct username and password (cusadmin / password) were on the suddenlink website.
If you’re like me and you end up getting a suddelink.net gateway, then there are a few things you should know about this thing:
1.) You cannot change your routers SSID, access key, or the mode of transmit. It will always be mixed (instead of b, g, n only).
2.) All you can change is the channel and a few other settings.
3.) You can, however, enable or disable wireless broadcast.
4.) If you are having frequent disconnects and interruptions while connected wirelessly, try disabling the router’s firewall and if that doesn’t work, change the broadcast channel. Disable the 5 GHz band as well as a last resort.
My connection speed on a hardwired connection is 94.90 down and 21.76 up, with a ping of 22.
My connection speed on a 2.4 GHz wireless connection is 53.02 down and 21.84 up, with a ping of 23. Ugh!
My connection speed on a 5 GHz wireless connection is 111.80 down and 22.07 up, with a ping of 24.
I’m paying for 300 Mbps speed.
The WiFi connection quality has been pretty bad with random disconnects and interruptions in service. Disabling the firewall and setting the 2.4GHz and 5GHz broadcasts to a specific channel has helped somewhat but it’s still not perfect.
The gateway will randomly power down, even when your right in the middle of downloading something or surfing. Kinda annoying if your watching a show or gaming.
Lastly, the unit gets HOT.

I purchased it to substitute the rent one. So far works fine. It does have the heat issue but does not bother me. The signal covers all places of my house, which in more than 2300 sq ft.

I love this router. This is the router that rented with Time Warner for over a year and I rarely had any problems. When I decided it was time to purchase my own instead of renting one, I bought 2 different routers, both which were absolutely terrible before I decided to buy the same brand I’d been using this entire time. I should’ve done that from the very beginning. I’ve had it since January, and I can’t even remember the last time I had to reset it. AND I bought a used one too! Definitely a great product.

Cable company has full control quite disappointed about that

Pays for itself after just a few months in rental fees from the cable company. I use it with wi-fi off and in passthrough mode to my own router, since it’s less expensive than other modem-only options that TWC/Spectrum allows for their 300MBit wideband service.

I got it to replace the one I got from the cable company they cost me $10 a month. I plugged it in and call the cable company to activate it. It works great
Bibliotricks –
Works well, but the condition was not as described (should have expected something amiss for under $30, but c’est la vie). The WPS button on top was damaged and stuck in place. I fixed it by prying it up with a flat-head screwdriver and reseating it. Slightly askew now, but working. The item arrived well-cushioned in large-size bubble wrap and a poly padded envelope. For the price, I would buy it again.

Once Again I bought the most expensive router/modem it was junk compared to this lowest priced self contained all in one Router modem! It does everything the most expensive model can do at 1/10th the price! Buy it! Brought to you By internettop40.com

I called Spectrum to have them activate this modem to replace their modem and get rid of that rent fee. I told them this was the exact same model they are renting me. They told me it’s not on Spectrum’s approved list of modems and although they are renting it, it may be their “consumer” model and not suitable for residential use…something like that. So I ask if it doesn’t work (which it should since it’s literally the same technology) then can I switch back to their rental modem. Basically she tells me there will be an $80 fee if it doesn’t work and the rental modem doesn’t get returned before the end of the billing cycle which was in a few days. I went ahead and got it activated anyway, despite the charge scare. I configured the modem and Wifi before hand and it was pretty much plug-and-play after they activated it. The speeds are about the same since we mostly use Wifi. I did get a few latency issues the other night, but I assumed it was because my Xbox was downloading an update. Other than that I think this is a pretty good value.

No issues at all. It arrived on time. We called cable company who added it to our account. Everything is fine, no problems. Would recommend.

I ordered this modem/router with some trepidation, after reading some of the reviews. Some described less than perfect merchandise, difficulty setting up or just not working at all. It came with all the necessary cable connections, power cord and set-up documentation, though they were somewhat confusing. And despite the almost 2 hours on phone with Spectrum/TWC to get the box activated, it works fine, just like the one I was paying $5 monthly fee.

The product would not go on line, had to purchase a different devise.
